![]() People started showing interest in Punjabi movies all over again and the industry was on the right runway. It was 2012 when movies like Carry On Jatta, Jatt and Juliet, Taur Mitran Di and Mirza brought back the audiences to the theatres. But the game-changer was definitely the year 2012. It was 2011 that we saw Dharti, Jihne Mera Dil Luteya and Yaar Anmulle which created a stir amongst the audiences. The next year was a little better as we could see makers gaining interest in the industry and giving good content than the past few years. The movie that stood out in this phase was Navaniat Singh's Mel Karade Rabba starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Neeru Bajwa and Gippy Grewal. There were few average movies that created the interest of the audiences but most of them released unnoticed. ![]() ![]() The year 2010 was more of a sluggish year where we didn’t see makers putting a lot of effort into their films. Let’s look back at the different phases of the industry and analyze the changes it went through. Looking back we see how the industry went through ups and downs but finally emerged as one of the strongest industries which could give good competition to Bollywood too. ![]() 2020 is just around the corner, a decade has passed and our industry has grown drastically.
